Unresolved issue please look further..

Camo
Hugo, This remains a problem. My browser accepts third party cookies.

My Two Separate Applications, are under me as admin with different registration details, also on different pages, aka

www.camosreptiles.com.au/classifieds.php  Admin= webmaster pass: x email: x

www.camosreptiles.com.au/forum.php   Admin= webguy  pass: y  email: y

If I log onto /classifieds, then open a new browser tab to /forum , I see myself shown as online as webmaster Clearing all browser data & cookies dont help. I have to log out (though I wasnt logged in)
And re log in.

When I re log in, then Im correctly shown as webguy.

Now if I switch tabs back to /forum my Admin options are gone.

Help? cant I be logged in both. They are definately seperate applications now.

The problem here is that it is not easy to check if Chrome has third-party cookies enabled or not (the same for Safari). So our embedding script always assume those browsers doesn't support third-party cookies and saves the login information in the user's domain. In other words, your embedded applications compete for the same login space. This problem doesn't happen with Firefox (with third-party cookies enabled) and IE.

Any possible solution?
Also will this occure for a given user who registers for both forums using the same details?

I'm not sure if it would work with the same details, I would have to test it. Probably yes.
For now I would recommend that you don't use separate applications.

The problem is that when people access your site, the forum is a third-party site trying to write a cookie. On chrome and safari it's very hard to find out if the browser is set up to allow this, so the cookie is not set to be different to each of your forums.

So what happens for people who register in both with the same details? Is nabbles cookie generic? meaning, if they log in on one, will they be automatically logged in to the other? I cant test this since I dont have another email addy to use.

I would have to test it too. But anyway, you can create disposable e-mails at www.yopmail.com - don't even have to register.

Ok I created an alias email and registered at both with the same details. If I log in to one (embedded) im shown logged into the other (embedded) but not actually logged in. If i try to post I get redirected to the login screen. so its still happens.
If this can be prevented somehow I'd really appreciate it, Its going to be confusing.
I have already got both apps going, so I dont want to lose post and members and everything.
Could something be done (server side at nabble) to merge the apps and there data, still allow them to be embedded on separate pages, but one be a sub-app? Without causing all manner of errors and more confusion with post from one showing on the other etc etc?
Its a big ask I know and I really dont want more headaches, if can't be done seamlessly or is too difficult, im happy to stick to things as they are and just make explanations.
I think If people log in to nabbles versions via the quick log in, it wont be a drama.
It dosent happen at all on nabbles versions.

I suppose it's possible but I'll need some time to check it.

You can do it yourself, just have to move the topics like if they were on the same forum. When asked for where to move, you should provide the address on the other forum.
