POSTING PROBLEMS - I am still trying to post my 1st message

Andrea
I apologize for the caps, but I'm getting very frustrated.  On 3/18, I heard about this site, and tried to post a message.  After the first "pending" email, I subscribed to the appropriate mailing list (toasters) and reposted as requested.

I received a lot more "pending" emails with no useful information.  I confirmed the mailing list subscription by subscribing again (I received a message that I was already a subscriber).  After a couple of days, I sent an email to support.nabble.com, since the Support forum said:

"You can post your Nabble forum questions here or email us directly at support@nabble.com. You will find us very responsive."

I never received a response.

I have seen multiple users post the same problem on the Nabble Support forum (it is now showing up under OldNabble1/NabbleSupport), and no one ever responded to them.

It has been 12 days since I started this process.  Since it had been over a week since I last posted, I posted it again today..same email response.  I also sent another email to support@nabble.com...nothing.

I have no idea what the problem could be..  I would appreciate any help you can provide.

Thank you,
Andrea

I am having the same problem. I created a forum, and when the users receive the subscription email and they click on the link, it says that the user is already subscribed, even thought they are not. I notice that after this they are added to the subscribers list and can receive emails through the forum, but they cannot log in and post new messages.

Also sometimes users get a message saying "The code in the URL is not valid.
Please contact Nabble Support if you need help."

Please respond soon Nabble Support.

Thank You

<http://n2.nabble.com/user/UserNodes.jtp?anonymous=tervel-4472001> shows only one message by anonymous/unregistered user Andrea.

Please, can you provide a link to an affected message? Thanks.

I am having the same problem.

People who try to subscribe to our forum get the following message:

"You are already subscribed to ...
Please contact Nabble support if you need help."

What problem do you exactly have?
The subscription is used to receive new posts in your email inbox. The message shows that you (or your users) are already subscribed and there is nothing else to do, except wait for the posts to arrive in your inbox.

I checked your forum and it looks great. People just have to navigate to a sub-forum and click on "New Topic" to post new messages.

Sorry that I wasn't clear before.

The problem I am having is that even though users get a message saying that they are already subscribed, they actually never completed the subscription process which involves selecting a password. All users of the forum were added to the forum using the 'add subscribers' text area.

As such, they can receive forum posts by email, but they cannot log into the forum to post a new message. It seems that these people are listed as unregistered users.
------------------
After writing the above I ran through the whole process again and had a light-bulb moment. Are 'subscribe' and 'register' two separate things? If so, then what I want is to be able to send users a link to register for the forum, and not merely subscribe.  Is there an automatic way to do this? Because a subscribed user cannot post messages unless they are registered. Am I right?

Thank you.

Re: POSTING PROBLEMS - I am still trying to post my 1st message

Hugo <Nabble>
You are right. Subscription and registration are two separated things. We unfortunately don't have an automatic way to send this to your users, so you should let them know that they must complete the registration:
http://n2.nabble.com/user/Register.jtp
It usually takes less than 1 minute.
I will talk to the Nabble team and work on a solution for this problem.
