I am sooooo cross with Nabble, because there are so many things that I would like to do with Nabble and get away from my current website provider, but am now far toooooo wary!
There's not much to say about that here, as that's to do with your web site creation software and hosting service.
It's not just the adverts, but the fact that they were introduced without any warning.
I agree that giving more notice would have been approach more likely to retain the goodwill of users and would have given a chance for those for whom it was an issue to consider alternative services. It didn't help that the early advert provider caused additional problems for a number of Nabble's users.
I am not opposed to paying. I have to pay for my website, and am frequently let down! But I cannot consider Nabble as an alternative... who knows what might happen next... and I wouldn't want adverts on a website anyway... GRRRRRRH!
I was really confused by this comment. You say you are not opposed to paying, so why don't you? I've said before that I feel that your comments about Nabble's adverts on your own site severely undermine your own professional image and should be removed.
Your main concern seems to be that Nabble will do something else unexpected that will make it an unacceptable host for your site/forum in the future. If that is the case then only pay for the smallest amount of ad-free page views, so your commitment to Nabble isn't over extended. However, the longer you stay with them the more history the existing forum holds. Unless you turn to forum software you can host yourself then It seems to me that you have reached the point where you may as well commit to Nabble.
As for Nabble's plans for the future there is a very interesting topic at:
http://support.nabble.com/Where-Nabble-is-headed-tp7433043p7433043.htmlwhich I think ought to be moved, or even pinned, to the "Nabble's Latest Features" area.
