Reposting - One of the helpers could not help with this, says it should work. Hugo or Franklin?
The owner of our forum has granted all permissions to the administrator group. However, the admins cannot delete posts other than their own. The delete post option does not appear when selecting other member's posts. There is no obvious permission that controls the delete option. Was this functionality lost during the last major change? The site owner is the only person that can delete other's posts. Another individual reported the same problem with their forum. If there is something that needs to be set for the administrator group to control this, we cannot find it. |
No, I am not positive the owner has granted the correct privileges. However, I logged on with her to review the settings and we gave the administrator group authority for every field that was available. I do not see any field that references delete post ability.
I have attached screen shots of the permissions screen and how we have it set. If there is somewhere else that is affecting this option, please let me know where and what it is. Is this true for every site, or just mine and a few others? |

what I'm seeing is, Admins should have all boxes ticked...Which you do have, I'm
not completely sure how the nabble system works. However
did she add you to the list of admins or authors ? You should verify with her if
your on the admin list and i don’t remember having a problem like this on the
old nabble permission system, it must be a bug.

because all the subcategories have an independent Permission...
So..changing the main permission will NOT work with subcategories... Hope this helps! View

Okay, I don't think I fully understand. Because everything that can be checked for Admin is checked, as I showed in my screen prints in an earlier post. If I go to a subtopic and look at the permissions, everything is inherited from the parent topic and is checked.
And posts that are under the main forum heading cannot be deleted either, so any issue with subcategories should not matter. I also don't know what you mean by selecting everything in ADMIN and OWNER, because there is no OWNER category.

Based on the fact that nobody has posted an explanation for how I can fix this, and other forum users are reporting the same problem, I am assuming that this is a bug with the forums. If I am wrong please correct me, but I'd like for either someone to acknowledge that this functionality was lost or to explain what I (we) are doing wrong that we cannot fix this.
Thanks for your help! (Topic title modified to reflect current situation) |
I am able to delete posts. At least I was able to yesterday.
HTTPS Please!

Just to be clear. I'm talking about being able to delete posts other than my own, and I am not the site owner, just an administrator. The owner can delete any post, admins and members only their own. It used to work that the admins could delete all posts.
