Re: Weird login thing

Harvey
I'll try to remember.

Normally (up until a month ago or so) I'm logged into all three apps all the time I never log out, and only have to login after a computer shutdown.

Now i try logging in and out often to try to get the green light to go out.

Sometimes like now the green light is only on when I look at my profile and it shows me as logged out (gives me the login option in the upper right).

But I have most of the access that someone logged in has.

Re: Weird login thing

I don't know how to describe this.   I was logged in since last night.  I had several hours of the on light indicator doing the right thing and in the last 10 minutes it's on again with the invis box check.

I'm having to do a lot of moderating due to some issues, and my only choice is to keep logging in and out. Even when you do that it doesn't really help.

Re: Weird login thing

Harvey
Here's a problem I am having.

I want to log out. I know I am logged in because my light is on and I have full access to features.

But the logout button says login:

Can you devise some way for me to log out?

I was hoping that this issue was unique to me as admin, but I am starting to hear from forum members:

"Why does it show me as logged in when I arrive at the site, but have not logged in yet."

Re: Weird login thing

Harvey
I need some way to log out.  Now when I log out, I am still logged in. I hit log out and   but I still have full functionality.

I thought that if I closed the window it would treat me as logged out but it doesnt.

BUT oddly I can't access my private forum even when logged in?

What do you need from me to investigate further?

Re: Weird login thing

Harvey
I can usually log out from the magazine and directory. But not always.

I can rarely log out from the forum.

I think it has something to do with how often I log in to each.

I am much more active on the forum.

Right now I am logged out of the magazine and directory but cant get out of the forum:

Harvey, please delete all your browser cookies in the nyskiblog.com domain (and subdomains). Then log in to your magazine and check if the forum still shows you offline. Then log in to your directory and check the forum again. Finally log in to your forum and then log out. The green circle will be there for two minutes... you will have to wait. After two minutes you should be offline again.

Hi Hugo!  :)

Not sure how to clear specific cookies. I assume that clearing all cookies is fine.

That all worked precisely as you said it should.

But it also removed my invisibility √ from the box.

Will I have to clear cookies all the time or is there a way for it to work the way it used to?

I would like to be invisible.

Now you can select the invisibility box again (do this in all computers and gadgets you use). In theory, it should work fine from now on.

We didn't change anything. It was probably an old cookie in your browser or something like this.

Re: Weird login thing

Clearing cookies seems to work for a while.

I cleared them maybe 10x yesterday.

This was never required in the past. What is different?

Re: Weird login thing

I now log out of the magazine and directory whenever not actively working there, staying only logged in to the forum at all times.  That seems to have helped a lot.

It hasn't solved the issue, but it has helped.

Re: Weird login thing

Any chance of resolving this? Logging in, logging out, clearing cookies, resetting advanced option is now taking 30 minutes a day and often doesn't work.

I haven't understood what is happening yet.
What is the main problem? Would it be make people think that you are online when you are not?
