API for Nabble 2

Is there an API for Nabble 2?

I run a non-profit organization where access to the forum is a benefit to members.  I would like to auto register/subscribe users when they join, and auto unsubscribe them if they do not pay their dues.  

If there is not an API, could this be accomplished using the email subscribe feature?  I have heard about it but can not find any info on how it works.
