Color font in the message box

Hello everybody !

I'm a french newbie. I just have a fair knowledge of html.
I want to give color to the text in a post.
I read this here, in a topic about html format :
@font color="red" size=3>@b>Bold Red Size 3@/b>@/font> (change "@" by "<"). I don't know why, but it doesn't work for me and my text is still "white" but in bold and the size is correct..
However, here, it work very well ! => Bold Red Size 3
Can you help me to understand where the problem is? Is there some parameters I have to change in my forum's specifictions, and where?
