I liked your solution, but I found some issues:

1 - I haven't the possibility to use emoticons. There is a solution, insert image from a topic with all these emoticons. I had this ressource in my forum.

2 - the image uploaded is out of Nabble. It is at imgur.com . I don't know them and how they work. I will try them.

I saw in the site of nicedit that you can download de java code and deploy it by yourself. And change some configurations.

I will try understand the code and see if I can change the site to upload.
I already found where is in the code. But I must try to change it and to know to where I will upload.

Pedro was testing this nicedit but that time the upload image from your computer wasn't present. And  up to now there isn't possibility to upload a file, not image.

I created some tools to fomat text and insert some special characters and html codes. I will lost these ressources. Maybe I can include them. At least the flags to mark topics work fine. I must try.
