Hi Richard,

Thanks for the comments. Who is pedro? Does he work for Nabble?
Pedro is the lead staff man on Nabble Suppport these days. I think he's based in Brazil, so tends to respond in the middle of the night - for we UK types.
I was under the impression one could back up the archive and export it. Its a great pity to loose seven years blogging.
Even when the backup file generated by Nabble was an XML file, I understand it took a lot of specialist knowledge to devise a script that would be usable by any other blogging software as the basis for import, so in practical terms, it was only really of any use to Nabble staff to use to restore a Nabble forum that had been deleted through inactivity.
Yes, for someone like you, who has been pretty prolific over the years, it would be a huge loss. The best I can suggest - other than staying with Nabble - is to make sure you keep your registered email address current, so you do see the messages that Nabble issue when they warn of content being deleted through lack of visits and make sure you visit. That is sufficient to keep it live. Then just start a new blog elsewhere and maintain a link to your old Nabble blog. I moved most of my forums from YahooGroups to Nabble some years ago using that approach.
In my case, I have always subscribed to my blogs/forums so have pretty near complete record of posts in a plain text format and it might be possible to create a suitable file for upload elsewhere, but if you haven't got an email archive that suggestion is a bit "after the horse has bolted" advice, so probably wasn't worth saying!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
