Make the Avatar higher (height)

Is there eny way to make the avatar taller but not wider. Example:

width:100;
height:243;

The picture will always crop 100 x 100. Or if you juste make it free. For exemepel:

Mr.1 want his avatar 200 x 100px
Mr2 want his picture 236 x 100px
miss65 want her avatar 64 x 100px.

Is there a way to do that?

What i want to do is to make the height free and no limit.
