So what is the difference between Administraters and Moderator?
What can a moderator do on my site????
Administrators have the same complete power over the site as you.
"Moderators", or whatever you choose to call the group, the name itself is irrelevant, will be able to do just what you choose. You just need to set or remove the permissions as you see fit.
If you are not currently using the "Members" group (it's created by default but you need to assign people to it manually) then you could use that for this purpose.
what I want is for a couple of old email buddies from the UK - To look at LOA in their AM - And if they see a out and out Advertisement - to delete the ad(s)
Ah! That is slightly tricky.
As you may have noticed, the permissions screen has no specific checkbox to allow people to delete other people's posts - unless you are an Administrator, when it comes with the package.
However, there is a permission that you can give that allows people to MOVE a post. So if you don't want to allow those buddies to have ALL the powers you have, you could assign them to your chosen special group and give members of it that power.
You would also need to create a special sub-forum (Perhaps called "Private" or "Moderators Only") and remove the "View" permission for all users other than your special group and get your guys to move posts there.
Actually, this is the approach that I recommend, as it allows you to keep the evidence if you ever get into a debate with the user concerned and you can always move it back again if you decide a poor decision was made. Obviously you can't recover a deleted post, so it is a far safer method.
Volunteer Helper - but recommending that users move off the platform!
