This is how I handle a  centered image and caption:

<nabble_img src="image.jpg" width="500" class="single center"/><span style="text-align:center"><h4><i>Caption</i></h4></span>

Seems to work ok.

I'll pick one standard to start with:

400px image
aligned right
border: 8px solid white;

do we need to know about text padding?

I do think we need a solution for captions.
