In the past we had a full site search index, but we dropped that code when we decided to distribute the architecture over a set of machines. A search like that would be complex to implement (run in parallel in all machines, merge the results, etc.) and wouldn't be really useful for our business. The idea now is that people should use a search engine to find anything they want. If you go to google and search for "boost-users@lists.boost.org nabble archive" you will find the archive you have been looking for.
Note that searching inside a Nabble app is very important and we still have a lucene index for that purpose. For example, you can search this forum for any keyword or expression and we will list the results from our lucene index.
