The un-pulled menu might appear as a single icon:

• five stars = gold star
• four stars = gold star
• three stars = white star with black border (average)
• two stars = grey star
• one star = very pale grey star (barely visible)
• no entry icon = no entry icon

— only when the menu is pulled down is the viewer invited to change the count of stars.
