Sorry Will but your answer whilst well meaning is just nonsense to me.

From the following screen shot can you tell me which 3 topics have posts I haven't caught up on yet?

By the time I get back to the forum there will be more.

So back to my original question which remains un-answered.

Is there a way of determining which topics have been read and which have not because this is getting me extremely frustrated.
