making registered user into members

donharrison
l may change the "Who can view?" from "everyone" to "members"
making my forum a Private Forum.

If l did so, could l then move some key "registered users" upto "members"
via the "Who are Members" page? to avoid them having to go this path:

Private Forum
Authorized Users Only
Sorry, but only authorized users can proceed in this area. You can use the form below to send a request
to the forum administrators for approval. If approved, you will be notified by e-mail. etc.

l'm sure most would go this approval route anyway, if faced with that screen
but it would be handy if l could make it a bit easier for some key members.

cheers Don.

Yes, you can add them as members. Just go to the "Options > Who are members?" page and add one by one either by entering their user name or email. Please let me know if you have questions.

Thanks Hugo, that has worked very well!

l do have a question re the screens that new members will see when they have been registered.

Private Forum
Authorized Users Only
Sorry, but only authorized users can proceed in this area. You can use the form below to send a request to the forum administrators for approval. If approved, you will be notified by e-mail.

You may contact the administrator(s) of this forum:
FWP forum mod

Request Access
Explain to the administrator(s) why you want to access this private forum.

Free Embeddable Forum Powered by Nabble

if they click on the administrators they then see the forums deleted posts?
can the following part be removed from the process?
You may contact the administrator(s) of this forum:
FWP forum mod

so new members will only apply via the nabble message box which appears below
Request Access
Explain to the administrator(s) why you want to access this private forum.

otherwise if they click on the admin's, they will have the ability to view
even change the status of posts scheduled for deletion, before they have even become members?

cheers Don.

Thanks for the feedback. We changed those links and they won't go to the user profile anymore. Now they go directly to the "send email" page. This should solve your problem. Please take a look and let me know what you think.
