can't restore NAML (error 500)

sweetwood
Error 500
macroName is null
Message: macroName is null
RequestURI: /template/NamlServlet.jtp
Server: n2.nabble.com

I tried to update the NAML and then tried to set it back to the original by simply pasting in the previous information.  It didn't work.  Perhaps there should be a restore default button there also.  Meanwhile, could you please tell me how to restore the NAML?

The CSS changes also don't stick sometimes.   I was playing around with them.  I think it has something to do with changes to the color altering the css and overwriting the changes, so all color and font stuff has to be done first before you add the custom CSS.  You might want to note that somewhere.

This is likely only to affect your forum. It would be a good idea to post its URL.

Hi,

Apologies! I did not read your original message carefully enough.

If you have successfully edited a macro then when you return to that macro screen (Find them quickly from the "Customized macros" option from the "Cogwheel" menu) you should see "Edit this override" and "Remove override" buttons at the top of the screen. Just click the "Remove override" button and the original macro (shown after the over ride on that screen) will be restored.

You need to describe the problem more fully.
Unfortunately, there is some poor coding In a few NAML macros, e.g. inline styles or HTML attributes are used. Such code will always over-ride any CSS posted in the CSS box in the main "Change appearance" dialogue. In rare complex cases I also believe it may be that the order that CSS files are rendered can also affect whether CSS will take effect. Finally, dare I say it, it's all too easy to post poor code and wonder why it doesn't take effect! :-)
