add someone to forum without confirmation?

hey - there are people who are hardly technologically inclined that are using and going to use our forum... I would like to just add them to the list, and not have them confirm in their email. I can do this with other mailing lists I have used before, and it has never been a problem. Is this possible?

You could add subscribers but they would get a confirmation link on their e-mail address and they would have to follow it to get registered.
A forum is not a mailing list which authenticates an user by his e-mail address. A forum requires login and password. Registering them would not only open a door to abuse (Im sure it's not your case) but also create an issue because of the lack of the password.
