Yamaha YS624T snowblower transmission problems

Hi,

My snowblower transmission release bearing will not stay in the forks, and the friction wheel touches the plate 1 in only about two of six gear positions.  Please see attached picture.  So I obviously need to fix something, but what?

Your advice will be warmly appreciated.
