Workgroup format: completing assignments: completing from within the table at assigned/AssignedTopics.jtp

Graham Perrin
At <http://n2.nabble.com/Workgroups-td1559166.html>:

When it is completed and tested, you can remove the assignment and turn it into a normal topic in the forum.
An improvement suggestion, for when things are less busy:

At my <http://n2.nabble.com/assigned/AssignedTopics.jtp> to remove assignments, I'd like to

* tick (check boxes)

or

* click (radio buttons, maybe)

then probably apply/save.

= Rationale =

1. Completing assignments from within this table view should be slightly less longhand than reviewing each topic.

2. In a busy environment where many things are assigned (not necessarily by me) and where some tasks become redundant through passing of time (an opposite of GTD, if you like) it will be useful to complete, without review, topics that are beyond a certain age.

Thanks
Graham

Workgroup format: no assignment _does not_ equal completion

Graham Perrin
As I have been actively using workgroup format, I'll vary/extend my first suggestion:

 * absence (or removal) of assignment ≠ completion.

IMO the workgroup format should benefit greatly from some way of indicating that a topic is completed, or done, or closed, or whatever.

(Incidentally, I would not use locking for this purpose. Locks are not particularly peer-friendly.)

Thanks for consideration
Graham

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually, this was the same suggestion that another member from the Nabble team made. You added points to that idea.

We will improve the workgroup feature soon, after we finish other important issues. Keep posting to this thread is you have other ideas or comments.

Thanks,

I really need the lock option. It will make my life so much easier. I made instructions on ym forums for my weebly site and I would like to lock them so they couldn't be argued with. I know, I know:
"Oh well lock isn't friendly" well it doesnt have to. It has to bring justice and order to the court. lol. its like 12am, im tired :P
Peace out. I own this shindig :D
