Who can create new topics/Who can reply questions

Hi,

I have no 'New Topic' option (which is what I wanted) at the start of my forum because I have selected the 'Categories' format.  Therefore I only need the 'Who can view?' option under Users>Who can view and post - I don't also need 'Who can create new topics?' and 'Who can reply?' because there is no 'New Topic' option at that level, so why does or would 'Who can create new topics?' and 'Who can reply?' still be showing?

If you switch to "Topics View", you will see a "New Topic" link there. You can't remove that link for now (only when we release the templates feature in some months). So this is one of the reasons we show those options. Even if you could remove the link from the page, people could still build a URL to post a message under that forum. So you must have a way to block such attempts.
