Way to change login form from e-mail to username?

I just started a forum for my website and noticed that the default login asks for your email address and password. I was just wondering if there was anyway to change this via code?

I'm not clear what you're asking for!

Do you really want anyone on the planet to be able to access your forum as its administrator and take it over? (which is what is implied when you say you don't want to have a login so that Nabble knows that it is you and you are the authorised owner of the forum.)

Once you have your forum running you will find the default for anyone else is to be able to post without logging in.

Can you be clearer about your requirements as I don't really believe that what you ask is what you want.

I simply want it to where registered users can login by entering their username & password as opposed to the default setting that asks for their email address & password.

Apologies! I should have read the Subject Line with the the body of the message and not the body alone!

I am unaware of any way to do this - even by editing the NAML code.

As I understand it the email address is the key data item within Nabble's database. The username is only used internally as a way of hiding a user's email address.
