Using New Top Level Domain email address?

macta
I am a member of a forum driven by Nabble - (forum.world.st)

I recently changed my email address to one provided by the arrival of new top level domain names e.g.  myname.technology.

When I try and change my user preferences to honor that email address I get an error in the user settings that my email is invalid?

Shouldn't I be able to use: name@mydomain.technology (or any of the other new tld's on offer)?

Is this a bug (or at least, a restriction that has now become a bug).

Thanks,

Tim

Actually - I've now noticed that you can't change your email at all. I just created a new .com email address and I can't save that either. I get the error:

Email already in use
Please enter a correct email address and click Change Email.

Which is incorrect - I'm putting in a valid myname@testitnow.com

So is there something wrong at the moment?

I've narrowed it down more - its actually that you cant have addresses like: my.name@xxxx

You have to enter myname@xxx (not dot).

I guess thats a bug?

Have you tested if your email has changed even if a error message was showed?

Hi - I don’t think the email address was changed (although I can’t conclusively say that).

Anyway, I solved my problem by using an email name that had no “.” in the name portion of the address - and then was able to use a gTLD domain without any problem. e.g. [hidden email] vs. [hidden email] (the latter giving an error).
