Hi Nabble,
Over the last three days I have seen this user:
Name = modernlogodesign
Email = modernlogodesign@gmail.com
registering on a number of my Nabble forums, regardless of it's topic - and some have a very limited intended audience.
The first forum of mine that this user registered at does not allow posting by registered users. They need to respond to a further manually generated email before they get access as "Members". This user did not respond.
Having seen further registrations on other forums, I now suspect that that this registration is being done by robot on an incremental basis, so as not to be obvious in Nabble logs, and others will find the same user appearing on their forums, potentially preparing for some undesirable future action.
I'm not sure that Nabble can do anything about it, so this post is intended to serve as a warning to others to take appropriate precautionary action, rather than a request for support. However, if you do have any words on wisdom...
For example, I noticed, for the first time, recently, a user becoming "Unregistered". Can I, as Admin, set this status on a user? It appeared to happen when a user decided to delete his account. The user later disappeared from the "People" list Will banning a user set their status "Unregistered"? Some explanation of these unusual or temporary states might usefully be added to the documentation to help Admins understand how best to manage suspicious registrations.
Volunteer Helper - but recommending that users move off the platform!
Once the admin for GregHelp now deleted.
