Unable to set parent - not on same server?

I have a parent forum, Opencast (http://n2.nabble.com/Opencast-f3480289.html), which already has 2 children forums (Opencast Matterhorn and Opencast Community).  I created a new forum that I would like to be a 3rd child under Opencast, called Metadata (http://n3.nabble.com/Metadata-f713996.html).  But I can't set Opencast as a parent, presumably because Opencast and the other 2 children are on n2 and the new one is on n3.

Can you make this happen somehow, preserving Opencast and all 3 children?  I have links in many places pointing to Opencast and it's children, so I'd much prefer it if we could move Metadata to n2 to preserve the links of my original forums.
