This post was updated on .
I used the original nabble and found it straightforward and super helpful. You guys added a bunch of mailing lists at my request and life was good.
After nabble2, things got weird. Effectively nabble became a mess, from my perspective. I dropped it for at least a year or so and thought I'd try again.
It's still completely useless to me. I'm posting here in the hopes that someone can show my how it works, because I really need something like nabble1. My use of old nabble was mainly around mailing list archives.
Side note - last night "old nabble 1" didn't work for me. After logging in with my old credentials, it'd show the list of my favorite forums, but when I clicked on an entry like "PostgreSQL - general", it didn't work...it seemed to take me to a page on nabble 2 with a bad parameter, and nothing was shown. This AM nabble 1 works normally. Oh - not quite. After picking from favorite forums it shows the "PostgreSQL - general" list emails; but it also seems to have taken me out of nabble 1. It now says login register in the upper right hand corner. So nabble 1 is somewhat out of commission...bummer.
Re nabble 2, with a different, new login, I try to search for "PostgreSQL - general" or "pgsql-general" on either the front page or the page where you can pick just mailing lists...and I get a list of emails most of which are not in that mailing list. I don't see any way to get to the mailing list itself and browse the archive like I am able to do with nabble 1. As far as I can see, in terms of mailing list archives, all nabble 2 allows one to do is to run a google search on your content and then read a message. I want just what you had with nabble 1 - the ability to browse the archive, mark interesting threads, post responses etc.
I posted about the same issues before I stopped using nabble a year or whatever ago. Nothing seems to have improved re nabble 2. But just in case there is some magic spell that can make nabble 2 useful to me I'm asking here.
