Thanks Greg.  My eyes indeed got big when it said "Adult Site."

I suspect "ad-min" does not realise they have subscribed to a forum (or topic on a forum) and are therefore receiving all posts made to that forum or topic.

ad-min, there should have been a footer to the mail your received with unsubscribe instructions!

I only subscribed to Nabble support to view all topics and I have not subscribed to any single topic. I notice previous postings dated jan 05, 2012 under GregChapman ID regarding Philspar receiving unwanted messages. Looks like whatever happened then has happened again as I only completed a single registration to join Nabble support. I have received e-mails on many different forum topics which I have never viewed or even heard of. Seems to me that either someone somewhere in Nabble has incorrectly added my “ad-min” ID (= administrator for my own private forum) as an administrator ID for Nabble or that somewhere people are selecting my “ad-min” ID as a Nabble Admin ID and then including me in their correspondence.

 

How to resolve??

I don't quite follow that remark.

You can subscribe to a forum, in which case you get all messages posted in that forum and all sub-forums.
You can subscribe to a sub-forum, in which case you get all messages posted in that sub-forum and all sub-forums.
You can subscribe to a topic, in which case you get all messages posted in that topic.

In the first two cases you have the choice of receiving the initial message in any topic or all the replies as well. You can also opt to receive a daily digest rather than a copy of each individual message as it is posted.

That post concerns a Nabble archive of a mail list hosted elsewhere and does not relate to this issue. "Nabble Support" is Nabble's own forum, to which it is possible to subscribe and receive copies of the posts made to the forum via email.

Be careful with your terminology. "Registering" simply means that you are granted posting rights on the forum. This does not relate to "Subscribing" which is the process of requesting that you get sent, via email, copies of posts made to the forum.

You will receive many e-mails on many different forum topics if you subscribe to a forum or sub-forum. If you are only interested in a single topic then subscribe to just that topic (You check the "Alert me by email when someone posts to this thread" box) and unsubscribe from the sub-forum or forum that contains the topic.

The evidence does not support that, as you are clearly receiving messages in this topic and another in "Free Support" and maybe others that you have not responded to.
Can you confirm that have visited both "Nabble Support" and its sub-forum "Free Support" and checked the "Options" menu on each and and that the first option on both menu says "Subscribe by email".

There is no forum or sub-forum called "New User Questions". I have found a topic with that name, but it was last posted to in December 2011 so is highly unlikely to be relevant to this issue.

However I keep on receiving e-mails.

That suggests you are subscribed to "Free Support" as both these are topics within that sub-forum.

Check the footer of each message you receive. It contains at least three statements:

• If you reply to this email, your message will be added to the discussion below: [URL]
• To start a new topic under [forum name], [email address]
• To unsubscribe from [forum name], visit [URL]

Those should help you! (Should have remembered to get you to check that at the beginning!)
