Suggestion... Save post temporarily...

mywaytoo
As I am getting into the swing of forums etc., I am finding that I would really, really, really, really like a temporary Save button.

I would use this when I am writing a post/message, but need to find out more information before I'm ready to post it. What I do now is Post Message, and then edit it as soon as I have the required details that I need. This seems good enough... BUT I think that, with RSS, some posts might get picked up before I'm really ready for them to be read. I guess that just the one edition that is available at the time requested is the one that is RSS'd.

Just an idea for when you get time...

You mean like a "draft" feature, right? Like the one we use to have on e-mail. You write something and then "save draft" so you can continue later, right?

I know it is not ideal but you can always save the text somewhere like a text file or even your e-mail so you don't have issues with RSS until this feature is implemented.

I see two options:

(A) You can create another forum and use it as the draft area. When posts are ready, you copy and paste them into the official forum.

(B) You can create a private sub-forum and start all messages from there. When the message is ready, you can move the message to the public area so that all users can see it.

This would help me, but not anyone else... The draft email idea would be excellent, but could be on demand only as opposed to predetermined times...
