Subscription fails "Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender"

d1ckb31n
Hi,

I recently registered myself to JMeter group but the subscription fails with the following error mail (my email adress masked with XXX)

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

  jmeter-user-allow-subscribe-XXXXXXXXXXX=XXXXXX@jakarta.apache.org
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<jmeter-user-allow-subscribe-XXXXXXXXXXX=XXXXXX@jakarta.apache.org>:
host mx1.eu.apache.org [192.87.106.230]: 550 mail to jmeter-user-allow-subscribe-XXXXXXXXXXX=XXXXXX@jakarta.apache.org not accepted here

How to fix this?

Regards

Ronny

I assume that Nabble archives a JMeter mail list but you don't quote the Nabble URL.

The error message you quote appears to be generated by the mail list software so I don't think this is a Nabble issue and you need to approach the owner of the JMeter list to sort out the subscription.

Ok, I solved it by myself.

Browsing to jakarta.apache.org says that Jakarta has been retired in december 2011.

On the left hand side (jakarta.apache.org) is a link called "Mailing Lists" and there click "mail-archives.apache.org"

Then you'll see a listing of all mailing list.

There are also 4 for jmeter

The current un/subscription addresses für "jmeter user" are

Writing to the list: user@jmeter.apache.org
Subscription address: user-subscribe@jmeter.apache.org
Digest subscription address: user-digest-subscribe@jmeter.apache.org
Unsubscription addresses: user-unsubscribe@jmeter.apache.org
Getting help with the list: user-help@jmeter.apache.org
