(Sub)Domain Name - "Change Domain" gives blank page

Brian Norris
Hi, I recently created a new account and have been trying to setup an alternate domain name. I've set up the DNS services to point the address "csuf.computersforpeace.net" to 216.139.250.152, yet when I now go to my forum's "Change Domain Name" option and save the new domain name, I redirect to a blank page that does absolutely nothing. The URL ends up at the following (not a useful link unless you were actually submitting info):

http://csuf-hpc-cluster-computing.954716.n3.nabble.com/forum/ChangeDomainName.jtp

This still doesn't work after about 12 hours of "waiting for changes to propagate throughout the Internet." Anyone know what's up?

Hi Brian, the problem is that your domain doesn't point to 216.139.250.152. The basic test is to open your domain with the browser and check its destination. If the domain is correctly set, you should go to the Nabble homepage. Another test is to open a command prompt and type "ping csuf.computersforpeace.net". It should clearly show the Nabble IP (right now it doesn't). So please check again your DNS configuration and make sure you have an A-record that maps "csuf" to 216.139.250.152.

I don't know why the DNS record was not set properly. It had been set properly before (I checked) and after I read your response, the record was NOT set. Now it is set properly--csuf.computersforpeace.net redirects me to the nabble webpage and I can use http://tools.whois.net/dig/ to check the DNS info--and I still receive the same blank page when I try to use the "Change Domain" feature at nabble.

I found a bug in the system and it will be fixed after the next release. For now, I manually set your domain name and now it works fine, see: http://csuf.computersforpeace.net/

Thanks for reporting this issue.
