Some forum errors/bugs

ES Admin
1.  When ever I edit a post and click on the preview, everything is collapsed into one amorphous block of text, i.e all carriage returns, etc, are not retained.  Why is this?

2.  It does not seem possible to change the order of posts/topics in categories that only administrators/members can post in (obviously, you wouldn't want to do this for categories that any registered user can post in...).  Why is this?

This will be fixed after the next release.

We sort topics by date. So if you want to change the order of your topics, you have to change their date.

I had the same problem, that posts - having been edited and previewed - would then be published without carriage returns.

I found the problem lay in the HTML box. Somehow (sometimes), it ticks itself during the editing process. Go back and untick the HTML box and the edited post will display properly.

Sorry for late reply - been busy...  OK, I'll try unticking the html box see if that works...

The other obvious question/s that this gives however, is that does this 'problem with the html box' only happen with forums on sites that are not yet published (mine isn't yet as I'm still working on it offline), because if it also happens on sites that are published, then this could happen to any member of forum that wants to edit a post, only they will not know that the problem lies with the html box ticking itself - probably they wouldn't know what's going on and just come to the conclusion that the forum isn't setup right...

Update....  Where is the html box, I couldn't find it.

OK, I found the html box and unchecked it.  That worked

All my forums are published and, yes, the problem happens on these published forums every time that a post is edited. And yes, it gives problems for members. One lady in Switzerland spent hours composing a post, went back to edit it, and found it had solidified into mush. I told her to untick the HTML box and that fixed it.

The next release will fix this bug. It affects all forums and applications, so we know this is really a problem. We are in the middle of big changes so we will release as soon as the code becomes stable. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Well I'm really starting to like the way the forum widget works and it will be a great feature for my site when it's published (I'm still working on the content for the first issue...), but how about simply the option of being able to have the html box unchecked by default as opposed to checked by default...
