Simple Search not working? And resolution question, too.

Hello...first, allow me to thank you for what appears to be a marvelous "free" service. As someone who's gotten sick of the predatory nature of the interbent, I am going to happily pay your very minimal fees to keep my forum ad-free. I originally intended to embed this app on my mysite.com page, but mysite.com's limited resolution results in a scroll when images are displayed, which I don't like. Because of this, it's possible I'll eventually migrate all my personal content to NAML apps, providing one payment covers page-views for all my apps. Doggone I hate learning new stuff, but I think I'll live.

So, my primary question involves the Search Box...it seems I cannot use a Simple Search (i.e. type a keyword & click the magnifying glass) but only Advanced Search...is this intended, or a bug?

You should just enter the word and press enter. The plus sign is for more search options (advanced).
Yes, you should be able to make a site like that with NAML.
And about the resolution, unfortunately, I don't have any advice for you other than looking at the code and trying to make it 1024x768 compatible (it looks like it's designed for 800x600).

if i can't point-n-click, i can't do it, hehe.

i think i'll just simplify my personal site & retain the well-worn URL, and then utilize as much NAML as i can.

For the limited resolution problem, you may try the "narrow" layout (this option is available in the "Options > Application > Change appearance" page).

thank you for your input, Hugo...IF the forum was text-only, that would do it, but we encourage images and we hate scrolling. no worries tho, the mysite thing is personal, but the forum is a group thing, so a stand-alone forum i think is gonna work.

i'm liking this more and more...the folks who i'm gonna attract are used to BBcode...as for myself & the "forum" app i already feel right at home. just enuff admin features without being a ton o' work
