I emailed you about this Will, but I realized that I left something out so I'm going to post it here...
This might not affect a lot of other forums, but I think because of the way I have my forums setup with "Topics View" as the default view, this feature change has altered the behavior of my forum and brings about some problems for me. My main forum is set to "topics view" and I had it set so that it was read-only and my forum members could only post the sub-forums. This worked well previously and when they clicked on "new topic in the main forum it would tell them that they need to chose a sub-forum to post in. And when I posted in the main forum, it would warn me that I was posting in a read-only forum, both of these messages are gone and the problem now is that I can no longer set the main forum to read-only without it affecting the privileges of all my sub-forums. This means that my main (parent) forum is now going to get a bunch of topics posted in it which is something that I don't want. Is it possible to set the parent forum as read-only and still have the sub-forums of that forum function normally so that everyone can still post in them? And could the message telling users to chose a sub-forum to post in be reimplemented? If not, can you tell me if it is possible to hide the "New Topic" option in the CSS on my main forum (topics view)? This at least would prevent my forum users from posting new topics in the main forum.
