Reply to Sender vs Reply to List

Coleen_Astalos
I'd like to revisit this topic: http://support.nabble.com/Reply-vs-Reply-All-td7586689.html

This is the number one problem I'm having on my forum.  My users are NOT computer people, they're artists.  90% of my members interact with the forum via email.   We've set up our forum so that an email Reply goes back to the forum (and thus to everyone).  I know we can set it up to go back to the author instead, but then it won't go to the forum (and my members aren't savvy enough to scroll to the bottom of the email and get the email address they need to use).

Of course, now we have the opposite problem, when they *should* reply privately to the person who posted, they don't do the copy/paste of the direct email address for the person from the bottom of the email.  Instead they just reply and it goes to everyone.

I REALLY would like to figure out how we can make it work the same way our Yahoogroup worked.  Which was that a "Reply" went to the poster, but a "Reply All" went to the poster AND to the Yahoogroup.  If Yahoo is smart enough to figure out how to do this, then it seems we should be able to replicate it.

After some research, I believe the key is that the "From:" is from the original posters email address, but the "Sender:" is the list address.  So a Reply goes to just the "From" address, but a Reply-All goes to both the "From" and "Sender" address.

Is there a way we can add a "Sender" to the send_subscription_email?

Re: Reply to Sender vs Reply to List

We only have the "From" attribute, and we cannot ad more than one address there. I've tried with cc in the past.
What if we put the message of reply to all at the top of the email, like we did with the attachments?
My test forum.
