Reply to Forum + Self?

Marc Martin
Hi, I've been using Nabble to archive some mailing list for years, but now that Yahoo Groups seems to be committing corporate suicide with an unpopular & buggy "upgrade", I've decided to make the Nabble forums the one & only place to post & read messages for these groups.

So of course, now I'm going to have questions.  Probably more than one... :-)

I think a lot of members are going to still treat this forum as a mailing list.  So they will subscribe and reply to posts via e-mail.  I see that when I reply to a forum post via email, the forum does not send me back a copy of my post.  That *does* make some sense (and indeed, that is how Facebook handles this), but I'm wondering if there is an option to also have the forum send back that email to myself (rather than having to CC myself or get it from my "Sent Items" folder).

Maybe this is an unnecessary capability, but I tend to like to have my own personal email archive of the discussions, rather than just depending on the forum.  And some people get a "warm & fuzzy" feeling knowing that their email worked, if they get it sent back to them.

Thanks,

Marc

A decision I made a few years back!

No! It's an essential capability for anyone using a traditional email client. I ranted about it to Hugo a while back.

Read his ever useful response!

If you think folk will still use email then you might also want to install a change to add a Mail List Subject Line Identifier.
Volunteer Helper - but recommending that users move off the platform!

Great, thanks!  I figured out how to install that macro, and just confirmed it worked.. :-)

And yes, I've been considering adding the subject tag macros as well, as I'm used to
mailing lists having such tags.
