Code Now Working. Get it Here!

Check the "action" attribute on form tag. It's path is relative. since it's relative to nabble and you are on another domain, it's looking for the address on your domain. I'm not sure if it will work but try the full path there.

OK I got it work, but it doesn't work if you have forum redirect switched on.
Any way around that? Nabbles plain white version of the forum dosent look so good. I want to make it log into the embedded version only. ????????? can it be made to redirect after login, so it appears seemless, like its part of the login process? (both apps below) As a last resort, is it possible to use a background image (body) on nabbles version of my forum? I tried but it refused to change. ? I tried this but it failed body, .nabble, { background-image:url(http://www.camosreptiles.com.au/scales.jpg);background-attachment:fixed; } Two other Request/suggestions Id like to Address here to save further topics.... 1. Is there a way to remove the 'vote for nabble' popup? Ive voted several times already on both forums? Nabble is wonderful but I chose it because of its low key manner e.g (only powered by' at the bottom and no advertising) The vote nag ruins that. You guys deserve votes but thats annoying. Couldn't the 'show admin notice' say 'vote for nabble' instead and not popup without being clicked? Or atleast only pop once per user? 2. Can subscription invite emails (when I add folk to my subscriber list) please include notification that it is not a registration invite and that they can register themselves. Several Subscribers, having verified their subscription, believed they were registered and were subsequently confused by the posting permission request. Would it not make sense to make this information default? Or is it and I have 'dim' subscribers? :) Would setting my permissions for subscribers to the same as for members, be easier? e.g allow posting etc. |
Well, you could always add some CSS that would prevent the various <div ID=xxx> from displaying but I agree with your thoughts and sentiments. I believe the code is meant to prevent the message showing too often, but perhaps the cookie involved isn't persistent enough. I don't think your subscribers are much different to mine. However, Nabble's behaviour is no different to YahooGroups, and I do accept it as the Internet norm. I think the trouble is that these days many more people are only used to the web and don't understand the distinction between mail lists and web forums. It's not unreasonable to have separate access rules for the two. There is certainly a need for revision of the subscription message wording however - or the code that determines which wording to send. As you know from another thread to which we were both posting, the message I received when subscribing myself, appeared to come from Nabble writing on behalf of the list owner. That definitely wasn't appropriate.

In the near future, templates will be made available and you will be able to change your forum's layout to look exactly like your site, so you will have no problems with cookies and things like that.
The "vote for nabble" is only visible to admins, so you don't have to worry about your users. ;-)
