Problems with transparent background

onemanasylum
I have an issue where I am using an embedded forum with a transparent background. It looks fine embedded but some users want to go to the forum directly. When they do that, the full page view of it has a white background. Is there some way around this?

I need to use the transparent background for the web site we have but I would really like a way to set the page color to have a different option if viewed non-embedded.

I dunno... any thoughts?

examples:

Embedded version:

Non-Embedded version:

Looks like Hugo fixed this one for you - and me! (The bug only seemed to affect those using Internet Explorer.)

Have you now set a redirect on your forum? Currently, your two links end up at the embedded version.

How did you fix this?

I had disabled the full page view because of the white background.
I just re-enabled it (stopped it from redirecting to the embedded one) and it still appears white.

Is there a workaround for this where I can still have a transparent background in the embedded version?

Well...

While trying to figure this out I set the background to tanslucent 100% and now the whole thing is blacked out.

If there is any way I can get some help fixing this, please please help me.

The whole forum is dark and I cant do anything to it.

I suck.

Can't quite remember how it looked when I posted last, but I certainly couldn't see a white background then in either Firefox or IE8.

Now I see a black background showing in both embedded and stand-alone forms. When embedded, the hard edge of the black background just intrudes onto the lighter menu area.

In other words it sounds as if it is displaying as expected given your CSS you say you have in place.

I wonder if the fix Hugo applied is still not working with your particular browser. What OS and browser, including versions are you using. That info may help Hugo.

CORRECTION: It seems that Hugo's fix isn't complete!

I was logged in to my blog in Firefox. I opened IE8 and opened my blog. It appeared with me already logged in. I logged out in IE8 and the LOG OUT screen appears with a white background. Although, as soon as I clicked the Login link and the LOGIN screen appeared, it was once more transparent.

I wonder if you are encountering something similar with another set of circumstances?

The problem is that the logout screen hasn't been templated yet (i.e., it still uses our old java code). We are templating all screens now and this should take some weeks. Only templated screens will work with your custom style.
