Problems with login

sherrycrofut
I tried to login and it said it didn't know me. I do have an account. I reregistered and it suddenly found my stuff.  When I went to one of my apps, it didn't have me logged in any more and I can't get an embed code.  Since this forum has disappeared from my wiki, I really need the embed code to put it back.  I really need help!

You make it sound as if you have lost access to your Admin account for your forum and have now registered as an new user - but obviously not with Admin permissions. A while ago Nabble put an end to universal logins for all applications. How long ago did you create your registration and how many apps do you have that aren't sub-forums of your main application.

Since this forum has disappeared from my wiki, I really need the embed code to put it back.  I really need help!
Woah! Hold on! That's a whole different kettle of fish. Explain more! Nabble don't do wikis, so it sounds as if you've logged on to your wiki and messed with the embed code for your forum and so removed it from your wiki and then forgotten either the address you used for the admin account on your forum or the password for it. I wonder if you've become confused and are using your wiki account details to logon to your forum?

Perhaps you had better explain in a little more detail what you have, i.e. how many forums and sub-forums, where they are embedded - or used to be, what you did before things changed and anything else that may be relevant.

Re: Problems with login

Okay, I set up the forum a couple of months ago and embedded in my wiki for a class. If you have access to my account, it shows up named ask Guernsey. The wiki page I had it embedded in was:  http://guernseypd.wikispaces.com/Discussion. I am not sure how it got lost, but I had a teacher post to the page instead of the discussion thread and I think that caused it to go away.

Here is my problem, first when I tried to log in, it said I had the wrong password. So I tried the forgotten password. Then it didn't know my email, which I know is right. So I re-registered. When I confirmed that, all my forums showed up.  I went to the Guernsey one and that page didn't show me logged in any more. I tried to log in and it didn't know me again. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but I really need to embed this forum again.

Thanks!

Thanks for that response. It certainly appears as if Nabble has lost track of your login details. I can't help with that, but I would hope that Hugo, or one of the Nabble Team, will appear soon and offer some solution.

I guess the moral of the story is always to appoint someone else to act as a backup admin in case of disasters like this, who could still access the embedding code and upgrade a new login to admin status.

Is there something I need to do to get Hugo or one of the Nabble team to help me? I have a class waiting on the discussion thread!  Thanks for all your help!

Unfortunately, there are no promises in the Free Support forum.

If you pay the fee for Premium support you can post in the main forum and that gets a considerably more prompt response.

I may have to consider that since I use it for all my classes that I teach in wikis.  I like the free side because I work with educators in the state of South Dakota and free is the only thing that gets their attention!

Thank you for all your help!

Just a Volunteer Nabble Helper - because the nice folk at Nabble have helped me!
