Problem with the ServiceMix forum

gertv
L.S.,

We're currently experiencing a problem with the ServiceMix forum at http://old.nabble.com/ServiceMix-f12049.html.  The forum used to mirror our mailing lists at Apache, but the web forum is currently showing Russian posts unrelated to ServiceMix which are not appearing on the mailing list at all, so I guess something is wrong here...

Thanks for helping us out,

Gert Vanthienen

Please change your embedding script from:
<A id="nabblelink" href="http://www.nabble.com/ServiceMix-f12049.html">ServiceMix</A>
<SCRIPT src="http://www.nabble.com/embed/f12049"></SCRIPT>

Re: Problem with the ServiceMix forum

Franklin,

Thanks a lot for the ultra-fast help!  That has fixed the issue for us...

I guess it's time for us to migrate to the Nabble 2 platform as well -- could you also start that process for us or would you prefer me to post a separate request for that in the "Migrating forums..." thread?

Regards,

Gert

Hi Gert, I added the ServiceMix forum to my migration list and this should be done soon. We are finishing the configuration of the new server and there are some forums on the queue.

Re: Problem with the ServiceMix forum

gertv
L.S.,

I noticed our forum got migrated to Nabble 2 so I updated the embedding code to

<a id="nabblelink" href="http://servicemix.396122.n5.nabble.com/">ServiceMix</a>
<script src="http://n5.nabble.com/embed/f396122"></script>

However, when I go to http://servicemix.apache.org/discussion-forums.html afterwards, the script on the page only says 'Loading...' but we never actually get to the forum.

How can we get this fixed?

Thanks for your help,

Gert Vanthienen

Re: Problem with the ServiceMix forum

Gert Vanthienen
L.S.,

We running into another issue with our upgraded forum now -- it looks like some of the mails being sent to the forum aren't showing up on the mailing lists that backs the forum.

E.g. http://servicemix.396122.n5.nabble.com/Protocole-bridge-example-error-3-3-1-td510645.html#a510645 shows up in the on-line forum, but we never got a matching mail on the mailing list.

Is there an additional change we have to make ourselves in the forum administrator to get this fixed?

Regards,

Gert

L.S.,

... just one quick extra note: it looks like some mails do get through to the mailing list -- the reply to the same thread has been posted from Nabble as well and that one did make it to mailing list.

Hi Gert, this probably happened because the user was not subscribed to the mailing list. The user who replied to that message was a subscriber, so his/her posts could finally get through the list. There is no way for Nabble to check if the user is subscribed or not, so we must trust the user.
