Private sub-forums now hidden by default?

It appears that the default to hide private sub-forums has changed sometime in the last few days.

I have an Instructors sub-forum that only members who are "instructors" are to have access to.  This sub-forum used to be visible at the top level and non-instructors could click on it and could request access.

This sub-forum is no longer visible to non-instructors, so any new instructors who join the forum have no idea that there is such a forum and have no way to request access.

How do I restore the old behavior?

Not sure if this has happened in the "last few days", but a few weeks ago a new option appeared at:

OPTIONS > APPLICATION > EXTRAS AND ADD-ONS > CONTENT > SMART APPLICATION PAGES

That setting might be affecting you. (I know that the reverse used to apply in MIXED applications before this option was introduced.)

He is right, the behavior did change with private sub-forums.
Can you please send the link to your forum and the corresponding sub-forum so I can check permissions and see how can I help you?
