Poblems with users being able to upload a profile picture (avatar)

Elliott Humphrey
Hi Nabble

I currently have a forum which you can find here http://www.stdenysboats.co.uk/forum.html
as you can see I have embedded this forum into a website.

I am currently having a issue with users trying to upload a new or change there profile picture (avatar) in there own user area within the forum.

The users are able to get to the stage of cropping the image, once they have selected the area they wish to crop they click the crop image button, the forum then automatically asks the user to log in again, once they do this the profile picture is the same as before and has not changed.

Your help would be very much appreciated.

Elliott

Hi Elliot, have you tried to change your own image?

Further to this problem, I may have found that it is to do with compatibility issues in certain browsers

It does not work in Chrome or Safari

but does in IE, Firefox and Opera

In firefox it worked fine to me. In Chrome I had to login again but the picture was cropped. I'll look into it.

It seems to be something related to your weebly setting. Everything worked in my embedded forum.

I have recently contacted Weebly and from there end they have stated that the page with the forum on it has 140 warnings.  They think that it is something to do with the javescript of the forum.

could you tell me the exact code that needs to be copied to embed the forum correctly in my site, or if you can find the problem to the javascript error that would be most appreciated.

Thanks for all your help so far

Not sure if the screenshot below will help you solve the  140 warnings

Hi Elliott,

Not really!

The ones we can see only say that the Javascript on the forum is accessing the page on which the forum is and they're on different domains. If all the warnings tell us only that, then it's telling us what is already known. It's the way embedding with redirection works! And it works for just about every other on-line site-building service and there never seems to be a problem with forums embedded in sites with conventional hosting companies.

If all Weebly Support have done is seen a number of warnings and tell you "It's not us", then they are not being very helpful and and aren't examining that report with due diligence!

Unfortunately, it always seems to be those Nabble users who embed their forum's within Weebly and Wix sites who to ask for help with embedding issues. Once in a blue moon you see a query from a Blogger user, but almost never, that I recall, from conventional hosting companies (unless it turns out to be Nabble user error).

That's very strange. I'm not getting these errors/warnings.
