Permalinks Directing to Wrong Page

Hi Anne,

In this post you report an issue where a permalink to root embedded forum with a redirect in place goes to a sub-forum.

We've had conversations in the past where I couldn't understand the problems you had with permalinks not working as you would expect. This is an example I can replicate so I hope to use this thread to identify how this can happen and whether there is a bug that needs to be reported to Nabble's developers.

A number of possible causes occur to me that Nabble may not have allowed for in its code:

# Renaming of Forums
As you have a number of related forums, some with hyphenated names other without, I wonder if any renaming has taken place which might have thrown the system into confusion

# The number of redirects in place.
I have found that you only need to redirect the top-level forum, for all sub-forums to be redirected too. I wonder if you have added specific re-directs on sub-forums.

# Change of Parent
Given your large number of closely related forums, I wonder if in building your forum you have changed the parent of any of your forums, and whether this has caused an incorrect redirection.

If you can provide any history on these points or other ideas of your own it may help track down the problem.

That's up to you, of course, but I'm curious. Why should release of the templates facility cure what appears to be a bug? I thought the templates facility was just going to add extra functionality not cure the problem you seem to have with permalinks. Have I missed something?
