This reply, and a subsequent one, take you to the original topic, not the post itself... Is this correct? I was expecting the specific post to be displayed...

I think you'll find your link will work when there are more posts following it.
This problem always occurs when there is not enough content further down on the page to allow the start of the particular post to move up to the top of tour window. The same problem will occur on any web page when the link points to somewhere near the bottom of a page.

Greg... I have added a couple of extra posts. The permalink itself changes / is different for each post, but if it is entered as an address into Google, then it will open up the Topic, but not the post itself...
My Blog will open up specific posts if I enter the permalink...

Hi Anne,
I'm confused! The permalink works! It goes to the desired message on the appropriate page if you click on the link, or if you enter it in the address bar of a browser. Why would you want to enter it as a search term in Google? I don't think I can be understanding you.

The permalinks are different for each post, yet, no matter how you use them, they all take you to the Topic... whether you click on them or paste them into Google's address bar...

This is where I noticed this issue initially... I would like the post below the topic to appear as it is an example of how to post a photograph...

I remain confused! The link you posted in your first post to this topic worked for me. You'll notice the link ends in form: topic-title-tp1234567p1234567.html It appears that permalinks normally take one of a number of forms depending on whether you are linking to a forum, topic or post: Forum Title-f1234567.html Topic-Title-tp1234567.html Topic-Title-tp1234567p1234567.html However, alternative forms can appear (I haven't worked out what the circumstances are yet!) but they appear to follow a similar pattern, where: #nabble-td2595162 #nabble-td2595162|a2614805 will substitute for the forum/topic and post forms of the permalink. (The difference between forum and topic is determined by what precedes the "td" URL suffix.) I am not sure how you are obtaining the permalinks you use, and maybe that is the issue. However, I do find that your initial link in this thread does take you to an individual post and the one in the quote above does only take you to the topic. However, this is as I would expect, given the form of the link.

<br clear=all> Notice that both permalink addresses are the same... AND I thought that I had selected 'small' photo size...

Hi Anne,
Unfortunately, the images are too small and don't help in identifying the permalinks/URLs that sent you to the two screens. I can say that the upper image does not appear to be produced as a result of a permalink being entered in the address bar. If it had been, you wouldn't see the site heading. Instead it would jump to the top of the embedded forum, not the top of the page. Had it been intended to go to the top of the forum the URL would be: http://welwynhatfield.983918.n3.nabble.com/Lambert-s-Flower-Company-Welwyn-Garden-City-tp2595162.html or some derivative of it, and the lower image permalink/URL should be: http://welwynhatfield.983918.n3.nabble.com/Lambert-s-Flower-Company-Welwyn-Garden-City-tp2595162p2614805.html so the two links are different. You did. The option will take the longer dimension (horizontal or vertical) and if the chosen image is larger than the selected size, Nabble's upload facility will reduce it. You choose "Small" so it reduced the height of the image to 250px and that's what you've got.

Greg... You are beginning to annoy me now... There clearly is still an issue with the size of image that is posted... On my third attempt at a sensible size for the pictures, I selected 'small'....... but, YET AGAIN the size remained large........ I expected it still to be large now... BUT IT ISN'T..............

Hi Anne,
The image I am seeing posted in this thread is 163 x 250 pixels and has remained at that size since I last posted on this thread, so is the "Small" size created by the Nabble upload dialogue. Are you sure you haven't got a zoom set in your browser, or something like that, which is only affecting you?

I am wondering whether this may be because I have used a permalink from a permalink...
BUT I'm not going to worry at all about it at present... I guess that Nabble's new template design might address this issue unbeknowingly anyway... In the mean time I shall take a screenprint and use that as the example I need...
