Non-admin can't set Title, Description and Keywords...

This post was updated on .
I still expected to be able to change the title, description and keywords from the default settings, but the option wasn't there when I posted on my forum today as a non-admin...

I have a problem with this because I don't have time to reset each new post when it's quiet, let alone if it gets busy.

I would not be unhappy with the Subject being the Title and the first sentence being the Description, but the Keywords are terrible...

There are TOO many of them. These days 6 to 8 keywords or phrases are ample... but they MUST be relevant and descriptive for that page... Google might also say 'unique' too...

I would be much happier if the words from the Title were used as default keywords. Google doesn't like duplication / repetition, but I think that separating the words with commas may be an adequate way out here!

Thanks for the feedback. We improved the code that generates the meta keywords but this will only be available after the next release. Please check again tomorrow and see if the new keywords look better.

This is a really good idea. Thanks to Mywaytoo and Hugo.

We are going with two or three keywords on the sites we build professionally.  FYI KW are only a really factor on Yahoo and Bing.

Hugo... I don't think that there has been much change to keywords:
"barbie, needed, trainers, for, sportswear, some, running, shoes, my, barbies, wear, with, their, track, suits, other, found, sale, ebay, when, they, arrived, were, too, small, 30cms, 12ins, favourite, knitted, item, knit4dolls, forum, blog"

It seems that every 'word' is listed once, and they are taken from the Title and the Description.

Harvey44...
Google doesn't seem to be using 'keywords' as such at the moment... but they may well change their minds, again, in the future.
I like thinking about keywords, because it helps me think about what I am actually saying in my content for each individual page... please don't look at mine thinking that they are going to be 'good' because I am always learning myself... and it is only from the words we use that Google etc can gather information.
I also like to try and extend my range of visitors and not just entice a known readership and this can only be done via content.
