Nobody responding to my posts for days on end

ajac63
So I am still unable to embed my forum into a web page.  I've followed all instructions given, but it's just not happening.  When I first used Nabble some years ago it was never like this, the forum embedded as usual without issue, so why is it so difficult now?

Do you have a custom domain?

Hi, thanks for helping and apologies for late reply,

Yes I do, it's https://talk-it.net, but if I try to specify a custom domain via 'Your Own Domain' under 'Change Domain Name', I get the error message 'Your domain name currently resolves to an IP address that doesn't belong to Nabble. ...'

Other info:

The embedding code currently includes this link - http://talk-it-forum.549.s1.nabble.com, but this doesn't embed the forum, it merely shows a link to it.

I've made a CNAME record that points to s1.nabble

Ah! So although Nabble is now served via https, the embedding code is still presented as http.

Have you tried add the s to the embedding code suggested?

Many thanks once again for helping.

Yes, the embedding code still begins with http and has done from the start, so if Nabble now serves via https, then why does it begin with http?

Surely just arbitrarily adding s to the code in the html page won't work, because the URL won't actually exist.  I don't understand.

If you have a custom domain I can enable https for you.

Thankyou, that would be great.  The custom domain is https://talk-it.net

On further thought, this custom domain will not work because it is the domain name of the main site.  So the custom domain that I actually need for the forum is the one that was automatically generated by the Nabble system (http://talk-it-forum.549.s1.nabble.com), except that it needs to begin with https instead of http.

Otherwise I still don't understand.

Recently, on advice from GregChapman, I created the CNAME record forum.talk-it.net that points to s1.nabble.com, so can I use this as my custom domain?
