New Post Highlight With Some Color or Some Icon??

disneyduniya
Hi,
I've Few Questions about Nabble Forum App.
If a Forum goes with Lot's of Categories, and user didn't subscribed to all the posts how he's able to know about the new posts that have been made since he last logged in.

Like in few forums (Not Nabble) I've seen that, new posts in each categories are displayed with another icons,
I mean a small notification area should be there to tell you the latest comments have made to your blog / forum.
Is there any possibility to do this on Nabble?

Another querry,
I have many subcategories in my blog. So If I post something inside my subcategories like forum / gallery or any other application, they are displayed on the Main page too.

I want not to show my forum posts and my gallery posts to be appear on the main page, so I changed the permission to members members only, so this way they aren't displayed anymore on my main page but this is a problem, I dont want to set my sub app. private...

It would be nice, if we can check a box, to allow a particular post on the parent application to be displayed or not.

Any Idea??

If a user subscribes to the top level of the forum they will receive all posts in all sub-forums. I have a FAQ about subscribing on my of the forums I moderate that may help you:

You can see the posts in date order by selecting TOPICS VIEW. Nabble displays traditional visited and unvisited link colours to help you see what you have previously read. Plus you could use the STAR feature to identify important threads that you want to follow, or subscribe to the whole forum so you don't miss anything.

I am not quite sure I understand you, but you might want to try OPTIONS > EDITOR > CHANGE APPLICATION TYPE and try some alternatives to see if an alternative gives you want you want.

Well Thankyou so much for the great information.
I'm pleased to see this is very friendly community.

I'm satisfied with your description about the Subscription.

But the second problem, I think I failed to express my exact situation. I'm sorry for that.

See, I have a Home page (Parent Application) as a Blog. Coz I wish to add my news post on the main page. This is absolutely fine.
I have many subcategories in my website, Like Forum (Which Uses Forum App.) and A Gallery (With Gallery App. Ofcource).
see http://disneyduniya.in/

Ok, Now, when I make any post to home page it displays as it should.
When I post anything inside my forum, or any of my user creates a new topic inside it, it automatically displayed on the Blog (My Home page).
This way, it looks so weired to have your forum topics are displayed as Blog post.

The same problem is with Gallery too.

Now If I make My Blog (Home) visible to all
but forum /gallery visible to members only then My homepage (Blog) doesn't display my forum posts.
But I dont want to keep my forum or gallery to be private.

Hope I could able to describe my situation well this time.

I am not an expert on all application types, but I think your trouble is in choosing a blog as the top level application.

Each application type has its own advantages and disadvantages. "Blog", "News" and "Gallery" all display sub-forum content in similar fashion. It seems that a blog is not suitable for your purpose. I think you must choose another application for the top level.

Carrying on from Greg's idea... I put a 'top' layer that I didn't actually need, or want, but it allowed me to use the same ID name across most sections. I was a bit worried about it at first, but it is fine... no trouble at all. Have a look here.
I wanted to start at 'Welwyn Hatfield Community', but added 'WelwynHatfield' as the outmost layer, and, in fact, I like it now as it shows all the available user / member options...
