For some reason Nabble stopped archiving Shotwell mailing list posts on Aug 2, 2012:
http://shotwell.996238.n3.nabble.com/ The most recent one (on Jan 29) is due to a spam message that was not accepted by the list. Nabble's account is listed as a member of the list and isn't in any of the banned address lists. Is there something I can do to get it started again? |
I sent to them another subscription request. I'll wait to see if the emails come up again.
My test forum.

Is there any way to get Nabble to harvest old messages? Or will this new subscription only pick up messages from here on?

I believe they blacklisted Nabble's address, so we can't subscribe to the mailing list anymore. I tried to subscribe my personal email and the confirmation arrived quickly. When I tried to subscribe Nabble the confirmation never arrived. If you have contacts there, you may ask them for an explanation. The owner of the archive (Adam) has an email in the yorba.org domain, so I believe he is closely related to the project. So I don't understand why they would ban Nabble.
Yes, we can do that because the mailman archives are publicly available as mbox files. But I think we should fix the subscription first, before importing anything. |
I'm the mailman administrator, so I can fix this on our end.
Can you tell me what email address Nabble is using? I've looked through the blacklist and don't see anything that resembles Nabble. -- Jim

Thanks, Jim. I was not aware you were the list admin. The email to be subscribed is "lists+1270564202214-3510 [at] n3 [dot] nabble [dot] com". Maybe you can just subscribe the email directly from the mailman interface. After you confirm the subscription, we can import the missing archives.
Besides that, I added you as an administrator of the Shotwell archive at Nabble. |
Interesting. That address is subscribed, but the first word is "nlists", not "lists".
I've added the lists+ address to the mailing list. Hopefully that gets the ball rolling. -- Jim

Thanks, Jim!
I've imported the missing months and now the archive should be complete (including messages from 2009). Please let us know if you see issues. |
Thanks Hugo! Glad to see it working again, and better yet, the full archives available too.
