We removed the "Authenticated" word from the interface. So here is a small summary:
(1) On the people page, the default selected filter is "Registered Users". You can't view unregistered users on that page anymore. This is probably an issue for mailing list archives, so we will probably find a solution to their problem soon. (2) On the "Change permissions" page, the "Authenticated" column is now "Registered", which is more meaningful and easier to understand. (3) On the "Manage users & groups" page, there is a new section for registered users. We still have a section called "All users" where you can see everyone on the forum, including banned, unregistered, etc. I hope you can have a better experience now. Sorry for the trouble and thanks again for bringing that issue to our attention. |
Hugo... It's looking really good! Thank you so much.
But... ... there are a couple of places where Anyone still shows instead of All Users: A User's screen: Registered: Jun 12, 2011 Groups: Anyone, Members, Registered Groups of this User Anyone All users belong to this group Registered Users that completed the registration process Administrators Banned Members Change Permissions screen: Change Permissions – knit4dolls Blog and Forum Anyone Registered Administrators Mem Unregistered Users who should have registered, but didn't... I shall email this user, and ask her if she would like to register... A bit picky... but is there some way I/we could select the order in which the groups are displayed for our users... eg. I would prefer All Users, Registered, Members, Customers, which is 'sort of' hierarchical. Perhaps you might be able to consider this when you are doing the templates... Thank you once again.

"Anyone" is just a permission group and should not be an issue. We got rid of "Authenticated" because it was indeed confusing, but "anyone" should be easy to understand. Unregistered users cannot be seen by normal users, only admins. So you shouldn't worry about that unregistered account, unless you have specific reasons to do so. I don't see an easy way to do this right now, because each app has its own groups and it is impossible to know which one should come first. So this should be done specifically for your case when templates are ready. |

Thanks Again Mate!
Just a question thats come to mind. I was thinking today how the process involved in moving a thread from one subforum to another is a little ...excessive. Im wondering if when you release templets, this could altered to use a simple drop down menu instead, so Admin can just choose the forum, instead of having to get the permalink, then go back to the thread etc etc. Im assuming we would be required to code such a change ourselves? I think this would be easy enough. |
The templates will require users to code a little bit using special tags that will make the tasks easy to learn and use. That's why it will give so much freedom to users to change what they want.
