Re: Missing Content

You're right Pedro! There isn't any - but there is a link hidden in the HTML:

<a class='last-child wsite-social-item wsite-social-rss' href='http://metfy.2327235.n4.nabble.com/Metfy-ft1.xml' target='_blank'>
<span class='wsite-social-item-inner'></span>
</a>

so it looks as if it's another case of Weebly not describing how to do things properly, or the user not following their guidance. Nabble guidance it quite clear on the code to be inserted in a page when you wish to embed a site. You just go to:

Options > Embedding options

and paste the code shown there, using the appropriate technique in your web editor. This seems to be a case of pasting the wrong code and using the wrong technique! I'd say it's a case for Weebly support rather than Nabble.

There's lot's strange on the site. It appears the "Home" page and the "News & Features" pages are the same - and both have that same Nabble link! (The permissions on the Nabble site appear to have been tied down in unusual ways too!. There is a case for saying there is room for help there, but that's not the question asked at the moment.)

Re: Missing Content

Tangerine Lion
Thank you for your reply.

I had to move the Nabble 'Newspaper' to www.metfy.info/archive and put real page content in place for the visitors to read as the said page won't display.

I can not see the 'Options' or able to change back the 'Description & Appearance' as this whole section as gone. the only visible section is the title are where I've placed an image or the logo. This occurred after embedding a Twitter button in this area.

I'm wondering if it's made the Description or Title area long thus pushing content out of view?

I'd pay Nabble for a better service if poss but not sure if they do this. I've used them for many year and like the format but this on has baffled me.

May I ask what this hidden link is also and can this or what has been said be improved?

Thank you.

It certainly looks as if it is the twitter code that is the cause of the problem. If you examine the HTML you'll see the code for the page is all there. It just doesn't display. All browsers I have tested it in choke on it.
 <iframe allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"
      src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets/follow_button.html?screen_name=metfyweather&lang=en"
      style="width;300px; height;20px; ></iframe>
The code looks wrong to me. I believe there should be a closing quote mark after 20px;

I do not think that is the problem. I have seen people use huge descriptions of many thousands of words! (They didn't understand the purpose of the field.)

In this case I think it is user error rather than a problem at Nabble. Nevertheless I am surprised at the dramatic effect of the lack of closing quote and how it makes the rest of the page invisible.
May I ask what this hidden link is also and can this or what has been said be improved?
All I did way hit CTRL-U in Firefox. (Other browsers have a similar feature) This reveals the source code for the page. I then searched the code for the word "nabble" and that is how I found the line I quoted earlier that allowed me to find your Nabble forum.

The problem is the the proper embedding code should look something like this:
<a id="nabblelink" href="http://metfy.2327235.n4.nabble.com/">Metfy</a>
<script src="http://metfy.2327235.n4.nabble.com/embed/f1"></script>
and I would expect to find it in an appropriate part of the code. Your line didn't take the correct form and didn't appear to be in the right place in the code. However, I doubt that was your fault. I suspect that was something that Weebly did to the page's code as you played with it. (I have a vitriolic aversion to on-line web creation software - and indeed any web creation software that advertises itself as "no coding necessary". This only encourages people to design things visually rather than semantically as intended by those who created the HTML language - you may have detected some of that between the lines in my slightly disparaging post.)

Whatever the cause, it does look as if you do now need one of the Nabble Team to access your forum and remove the offending code - whatever it is.

Re: Missing Content

Dear Greg

   Many thanks for your responce. I appreciate your hlap and advice tremendously. It does seem that Nabble may have to remove this part of the code manually.
Can you provide a link to ask Nabble direct please.

Kind Regards
Gordon.

You can always click on a poster's avatar to go to a screen where you can post a private email, but I don't think that will get a quicker response than your post here.

You do get a quicker response is you buy "Premium Support". Go to the main forum, not this Free Support sub-forum, and attempt to post a new topic there and you'll be directed to a screen that shows you the prices.
