A member deleted all of her posts. She claims that she wasn't able to change her password or email address (I think she's not being entirely truthful) and had to delete her profile. I checked and her profile was not deleted.
Is there any way I can restore her posts and lock her profile? Thanks, Dusty

People only delete their posts for one of three reasons:
1. Mistake! In which case you can point out how to correct things and as she will have received a copy of all deleted posts, you might be able to persuade her to re-post them, or, at least, forward that mail to you so you can on her behalf. For the other two I'll ask you to look at it the other way round. 2. They have become embarrassed by them. Would you really want someone to have control over your posts that make you cringe? 3. They are angry about the way they have been treated by the owner or other users of the forum. Would you want those who you longer trusted or respected to take control over material you no longer wished to share? In view of your suspicion of lack of honesty, it could be assumed that one or other of reasons #2 or #3 apply, and that would mean that she would feel that you are not being totally sympathetic, respectful, honest or honourable in wishing to reinstate her deleted posts. In that case either sympathise with her situation or grovel and take action that placates her. She will have received a copy of her deleted posts. Flutter your eyelashes at her sweetly and she may be prepared to re-post everything. Only the user themselves can control their profile. Again, I ask you to consider a situation where you were embarrassed or angry. Wouldn't you wish to have control of your profile? Of course, I may have read too much into your post. Forgive me if I have and explain again.

Wow, you really did read too much into my question. I have been nothing but kind and respectful to this person. Answering her questions on the forum, via text emails and phone calls. She does odd things and doesn't tell the truth about things but I've still been VERY nice to her. I suspect her behaviors and mistruths will catch up to her so I guess it's best that she deleted them. Perhaps her life will be better and happier for her? Thanks for your help. In summary then, if a user deletes posts, the forum owner cannot retrieve them unless the user will allow owner to do so. Additionally, even if posts number in the 100s, each post would have to be reported individually. Did I get that right? Thanks, Dusty Sent from my iPhone

I confess, I was in fantasy mode and thinking of other posters that have asked similar questions on this forum! I also failed to start the sentence "People only delete their posts for one of three reasons" with "Normally". I didn't take account of those who do "odd things". That is my understanding.

Hi,
When you delete a post, you receive the deleted message in your email. The only way to recover them is copying and paste creating new topics.

Thanks Pedro. I didn’t delete the posts, a member deleted hundreds of them. She claims it was an “accident” and she didn’t get even one copy of her deleted posts. I’m pretty sure what she’s saying is not exactly what happened. Thank you.

She will deny they exist even if they showed up and made her breakfast. Thank you for your help! Dusty Sent from my iPhone
